I have been in the welding and steel industry for over forty years, beginning with the family-owned UNA Corporation with its exclusive representation of Austria’s Bohler Steel and Japan’s Diado Steel Co., to my present -day position as Owner/President of Economy Welding and Industrial Supply.
Along the way, I have held various positions of leadership in innovation and negotiation skills. Included among these were Vice President of Sales and Marketing for UNA Corp., President of Inweld Corp. and President/Owner of Brite-Weld Corp. I have had significant experience in new product and product line development, establishing brand names and marketing scenarios. As a supplier to our industry, I developed strong relationships with various buying groups such as ADA, IWDC as well as large distributor organizations such as Airgas, Holox and National Welders. In the alternative market, I cultivated Fastenal, Grainger and MSC. Just for fun and diversification, I became a partner in Custom Tailor, SA, located in Santiago, Dominican Republic, a manufacturer of men’s apparel.!!!
Continuing my experience in the manufacturing and wholesale part of our industry, I spent several years basking in the sun in Ft. Lauderdale and working as V.P. of Sales and Marketing for Uniweld Products. Seizing an exciting opportunity, I returned to the Pittsburgh area as Owner and President of Economy Welding and Industrial Supply and President/Partner of Pittsburgh Torch and Regulator Co. (Sewickley, Pa.) During the past few years, through diligent effort and good fortune, the company has been steadily increasing its position in the welding market and building strong relationships with both vendors and customers. I take pride in our accomplishments and contributions to the welding industry.

I started with Economy Welding & Industrial Supply in January 2004. Shortly after my father Donald purchased the business. The experience of being involved from the beginning and ultimately managing a great deal of our three store business allowed me to use an extensive amount of Retail, Computer and Networking experience honed from my years prior to joining our company. While some of my prior experience was in the welding industry on the Vendor side, my management of a True Value Hardware Store in Boston, Massachusetts and as a Sale Manager for Circuit City in Salem, New Hampshire helped form my current management skills. I worked in the Computer industry as a Salesman and multi-level Technical support for Baynetworks/Nortel Corp. I am currently applying these skills to help Economy Welding & Industrial Supply thrive in our competitive work environment.
